Hi Guys! It’s me again, back with my next instalment. Today were talking resin. I just love love love resin. Its toxic, it overheats, it needs the right humidity, and you need to wear #PPE what’s not to love right!? Its bloody hard work but looks amazing. Resin tables are absolutely stunning, if you haven’t seen one get on #insta and have a look!
So, I started working with resin in 2019. A lot of practicing and ruining pieces before I #launched Sals forever flowers. I spent £1000’s on practicing, and I still learn something new every time I do a piece to date.
Most pieces are made upside down so it’s always good fun to demould as it’s a surprise! You never know how the piece will turn out.
Its time consuming and hard work making resin pieces. They make it look so easy online, but it really isn’t. It’s not hard to measure components and mix them together, what is hard is getting the #humidity right and making sure there is no or minimum moisture in the #air. Then trying to eliminate #bubbles which is so difficult as flowers hold #moisture and air in the #petals. I do my best but it’s a hard process, but I love it!
Once the pieces have been demoulded, that’s not the end. Some of the pieces need sanding, you have to work your way through different grits and then #polish and #buff the piece. Sometimes you have to add an extra layer of resin.
Hope you enjoy :)
I had to add my YouTube as I have just learned I can only add one video at a time! only me!
Any way people Bye for now.
I will be back with some more useful / un-useful information soon!
